![]() The under side of the receiver is correctly marked "IMPORTED BY K.F.S. 7.62x39mm" with "POLY-TECH, BEIJING CHINA" farther back on the receiver. The side of the receiver is correctly marked with the Chinese markings of a "triangle with 46 inside" which is very RARE as most were made at factory "36", with "MODEL AKS-762/ CAL. The first group (which this rifle falls into, based on being serial number "158" ) has the standard AK-47 style grip while the next group had a more ergonomic style/shaped pistol grip. It is reported that these rifles were imported in two groups with approximately 250 in each shipment, the distinguishing feature being the shape of the pistol grip. These rifles were all manufactured by the Poly-Tech company which was the commercial side of the Chinese State Arms factory which produced the very best AKS style of rifle. It is estimated that less than 500 total of this model were ever imported into the US prior to the ban being implemented, which disallowed several features, one of them being folding stock assemblies. This style of AKS was one of the last versions imported by Poly-Tech prior to the full implementation of the 1994 assault rifle ban and is much RARER than the Poly-Tech Legend or Norinco versions of AK rifles. This is just an exceptional, (as new) original pre-ban AKS (AK-47) rifle with the Super RARE side folding metal stock assembly, with the all Red plastic stock components. ![]()
